Which Govee lights work with screen sync over LAN?

34 models are known to accept realtime colour over the local network, with the segment count each one expects. If your model is listed, GLanSync can drive it directly from your Mac or PC — no Govee account, no cloud API key, no capture hardware.

Supported models

Segments is how many independently addressable colour zones the device expects per frame. Segment order says whether the physical arrangement is already known, or whether you pick the layout once in Settings → Device Output and confirm it with a preview on the lights — Govee devices report how many segments they have over LAN, but never where those segments sit in your room.

What “confirmed by” means

• Hardware — verified against the physical device, byte-for-byte. Only the H6609 (Gaming Light Strip G1) carries this today; it is the strip GLanSync was built on.
• Community — segment counts cross-checked across open-source projects that talk to the same protocol (SignalRGB, OpenRGB, LedFx and others) and against Govee’s own device metadata. These are reliable enough to ship, but they have not been confirmed on that exact model in this app.

If you own one of the community-confirmed models and it works, the model number is genuinely useful — send it to [email protected] and it gets promoted. If the segment count looks wrong on your device, that is worth reporting too; a few counts in this table have already been corrected that way.

Your model is not in the table — now what?

Not being listed does not automatically mean no. It means one of three things, and you can work out which in about thirty seconds.

Check 1: is it a multi-zone device?

Screen sync needs a light that can show several colours at once. If your device shows one colour at a time — a bulb, a plain single-colour strip, a lamp, a floodlight — then screen sync is not possible on it, in this app or any other. There is nothing to sync a picture to.

Govee's own product data bears this out: of the 423 models it lists, only 132 support its colour-streaming mode. Roughly two out of three Govee products cannot do this at all, regardless of software. If yours is one of them, no app is going to unlock it — the hardware has one colour zone.

Check 2: is there a LAN Control toggle?

Open the device in the Govee Home app and look in its settings. No LAN Control switch means no desktop app can reach it, because the local API simply is not there. Some models gained the toggle in later firmware, so update the app and the device firmware before concluding it is missing. Where to find the toggle.

Check 3: both of the above are true, but it is still not listed

Then it is a genuine candidate and it is worth telling us. The table above is built from models confirmed working by open-source projects that speak the same protocol; it is deliberately conservative rather than optimistic, so plenty of capable hardware is simply not on it yet.

Send the model number to [email protected]. The number that matters most is the segment count — how many independently coloured sections your device actually has — because that is the one thing the lights never report and the one thing a wrong guess visibly breaks.

• The lights and the computer on the same Wi-Fi network (LAN control does not cross subnets or guest networks).
• LAN Control enabled per device in Govee Home.
• macOS 13 or newer (Apple Silicon or Intel), or Windows 10/11 (x64 or ARM64).
